Version 64 - January 2023
Review
Images can now be downloaded from the viewer
A zip file of a document’s images is downloaded when the new ‘Images’ option is selected in the download sub-menu.
Images downloaded are in the same format as how they are stored in the database. Example, a tiffed word document will result in .png images, whereas third party documents are .tiff format.
When documents have produced images (bates stamped), an additional sub-menu containing ‘with bates’ or ‘without bates’ will be present.
Spreadsheet notes are now displayed in the viewer
Spreadsheet notes are represented by blue triangle icons, located at the top right of the cell where the note was made. Hovering over the blue triangle will display the note text.
A note itself cannot be redacted but redacting a cell will remove the note text when produced.
New single selection dropdown coding field
This new coding field type provides an optimal view when dealing with numerous coding values.
The list of fields can be filtered by typing text directly into the dropdown.
Selecting children tags part of a dependency will auto-populate any parent tags
Take for example a rule is created where if ‘Responsive’ is selected, ‘Sales’ OR ‘Contracts’ must be selected. Two more rules are then created where the first requires that if ‘Sales’ is selected, options ‘Car’ or ‘Boat’ must be selected, and the second is that if ‘Contracts’ is selected, ‘Patent’ or ‘Vendor’ must be selected.
This feature makes it so if ‘Patent’ is selected, the ‘Contracts’ AND ‘Responsive’ tag will be automatically selected. Alternatively, if ‘Car’ is selected, ‘Sales’ AND ‘Responsive’ will be automatically selected.
Administrative
Batch coding speed improvements
- Here are some metrics gathered from the testing of varying document populations:
- 10,000 documents | ~45% reduction in batch coding time
- 50,000 documents | ~35% reduction in batch coding time
- 100,000 documents | ~30% reduction in batch coding time
Matter usage page has been reformatted
This page has been updated to better reflect the categories that make up total matter usage. These include Loaded Data (native and produced), Generated Components (Imaging, OCR, and Transcriptions), and Productions (bates stamped images and produced text files).
The total size is displayed next to each category, and nested underneath each category is a component breakdown by count and size of component type (image, native, and text).
The RRC Login page has had its styling updated to be consistent with the rest of the application
Users can now click the eye icon in the password box to see a preview of the entered text.
Duplicate documents are now renamed as part of a load renaming process
This ensures duplicate documents will have accurate names, should they be promoted because of a load deletion or redupe process.
- When files are renamed, only the prefix will now change – the numeric will not change.
- Example, Doc_0001, Doc_0002, and Doc_0005 are loaded. Previously, a rename would not account for the duplicates, so if Doc_ changed to ALP_, the files would become ALP_0001, ALP _0002, and ALP_0003 (removing the gap between _0002 and _0005). With this change, they will now be named ALP_0001, ALP_0002, and ALP_0005 (preserving the original numeric).
